"Can Acupuncture for Fibromyalgia be the answer?"
Acupuncture for fibromyalgia is fast becoming a real alternative medicine for fibromyalgia.
The ancient Chinese practice of using needles at distinct points on the body has long been used to improve sleep, anxiety, achy joints, arthritis relief and even I.B.S.
Can fibromyalgia acupuncture be real?
Since 2006 there have been studies conducted on fibromyalgia and acupuncture. Similar to the studies conducted for guaifenesin for fibromyalgia, results and theories differ.
One of my clients will suffer from restless leg syndrome and another client will not.
One will have achy joints and the other may have lower back pain.
Fibromyalgia symptoms vary from person to person.
The newest approach to acupuncture for fibromyalgia takes this fact into account, as it should. A good acupuncturist will aim to treat your unique fibromyalgia symptoms.
So what may work for one sufferer may not work for another.
If you can stand needles acupuncture deserves a serious look.
I promote health and natural alternative medicine for fibromyalgia.
I receive many emails from sufferers who have been taking pain medication for years. They want to know the easiest approach to getting off the pain medication.
I wish I had an answer for them.
For you, I would simply state:
"The easiest way to stop is not to start".
In 2006 The MAYO clinic treated 50 fibromyalgia sufferers. They treated half with acupuncture and the other half with a fake treatment.
Neither group knew what treatment they were receiving.
After the 3 weeks, the groups were asked about their symptoms after treatment.
The group that received the real acupuncture had a significant improvement in their sleep as well as less anxiety.
As always with fibromyalgia the studies and the Doctors will state that more research needs to be done..............
It seems to me that if there is even some form of improvement for sufferers, acupuncture is an option you should look into.
