Should you get the flu shot ?
November 05, 2013

Fibro. and the flu

It's about that time again folks...

Fibromyalgia stinks - but now there is the possibility of catching the flu on top of it.

Should you get the flu shot or not ?

According to a 2012 study published in the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology, only about 57 percent of a 1,200 person sample of adults with fibromyalgia elected to get the flu shot.-(everydayhealth)

From the studies I have read it's sort of a mixed bag.

One Doctor recommends it while also stating that the needle puncture itself may cause a flare up.

Ultimately the choice is yours. My wife gets one and does pretty well. I took it last year and was basically sick from November thru February, and I'm a pretty healthy guy .

This year I will go back to what has always helped.

Exercise - Diet - and tons of clear liquids. Vitamin C seems to to help as well.

Whether you choose to get the flu shot or not, don't forget to get in some good exercise and avoid sugar.

What's your experience been with the flu shot ? Lets us know.
