Alternative treatments for fibro

According to a new study conducted by WebMD, 90 percent of people with fibromyalgia use some form of complementary or alternative treatment.

That is really impressive considering that just 7 years ago 90 percent of the same people were told to "go home and rest."

Of the top alternative treatments listed, Exercise was the most important complement to conventional medical treatment of fibromyalgia.

Exercise "has been found to improve outcomes for people with fibromyalgia," according to the CDC.

Guaifenesin – an over-the-counter expectorant drug -- and medical marijuana have attracted attention as potential treatments, but both also have attracted skeptics -- and neither has undergone rigorous scientific study.

So once again - Fibromyalgia and Exercise (no matter how vigourous) will help you.

"Exercise to stimulate, not to annihilate. The world wasn't formed in a day, and neither were we. Set small goals and build upon them." - Lee Haney
