April 11, 2013

Add these supplements

I am always asked which supplements benefit fibromyalgia the most.

I have always suggested taking Omega - 3 fish oils and vitamin D. I still recommend them, but today I want to give you three other supplements which seem to be working for those people exercising with fibromyalgia.

It's important that you are on some form of exercise program when taking these supplements, especially the creatine.

The following supplements can be found at your local health food stores like Vitamin Shoppe or GNC. Be careful to follow all recommended directions.

Whey Protein powder- Whey protein powder mixed with 8 ounces water is a great detoxifier. Whey has the highest levels of branched chain amino acids of any protein source. This important to you because these amino acids are an integral part of muscle development, no matter what your age! Whey is also a natural fat burner helping you lose weight.

CLA- CLA is a fatty acid derived from sunflower oil. CLA blocks fat storage and helps your cells dump the fat they are already holding. CLA will also assist you to develop muscle as well as lose fat.

Creatine (Only if you are exercising 4-5 times a week) Creatine will raise your metabolic rate which helps you burn more body fat over the long haul. It is also spectacular at increasing your muscle strength which helps you work out better with less muscle pain.

Be sure to purchase a creatine ethyl ester or monohydrate without any other ingredients. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for dosage. You do not have to load up on creatine as many people suggest. You should have 1 serving after your workouts.

As with all supplements , please increase your water consumption when taking these.

There you have 3 supplements you should take while exercising towards a healthy and happy summer.

Exercise, play, move. Stretch, feel, reach, sweat. Skip, dance, hug! Use the body God gave you, don't let it rot. ~Terri Guillemets
