Your bad habits and fibro.
August 18, 2015

Are your habits hurting you?

“Your attachment to unhealthy people and bad habits, which offer you no real control, is why you’re spiritually dying and living a life out of balance.” ― Shannon L. Alder

I know first hand what bad habits can do to those of you living with fibromyalgia. I have trained and consulted hundreds of you.

We all have them, whether it's too much sugar, alcohol, tobacco, or toxic relationships, they are habits which will cause your fibromyalgia to flare up.

Many of you think you know what bad habits are, but I bet you haven't heard of the following as being bad for your fibromyalgia. Keep your eyes open for the following.

Bad Posture - Can affect your lung capacity up to 30%.

Sitting Down All Day - Women who sit for more than 6 hours a day are 40% more likely to die within 15 years, Men 20%.

Not Getting Enough Sleep - Sleep deprivation can cause a number of medical ailments, from heart disease to obesity.

Over working - Working more than 10 hours a day can put you at 60% higher risk of developing heart disease (MY Bad Habit!)

Being a Loner - Not making strong social bonds can impact your longevity as much as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

The list can go on and on but these are typically the bad habits I see most often in those with fibromyalgia.

Exercise and diet are the key to combating your fibromyalgia. Just remember to keep your eyes open for these sneaky bad habits as they creep in without making a sound...

God Bless,
