Tired of being unmotivated!

(Vancouver)

Hello all,

I am a registered nurse and I have been diagnosed with Fibro for 3 years now. I've always had joint pain - especially in my hands as a child - yet no swelling was apparent. Finally got all the tests done to rule out RA - and the doctor finally announced the F word. I was dumbfounded, frustrated and miserable. I felt it was a "cop out". I was then prescribed Cymbalta which helped to relieve some of the symptoms but not all. Recently decided to wean myself off of Cymbalta due to the horrible withdrawal symptoms - I realized what an awful drug it was for me.

I have been trying to get the energy to get back into fitness yet I feel tired from the beginning and instead of gaining energy after exercise, it does just the opposite. I was feeling like there was nothing I could do anymore, and then I found Eric Suarez. His short fitness videos geared to exercises that alleviate the muscle pain are a God-send. If I'm having a bad fibro day, I do one or two videos. On a good day, I try them all.

I am also continually doing my own research on proper herbs, supplements and diet for fibromyalgia - and I'm testing them out.

It is a very disconcerting diagnosis, especially when you a registered nurse. Working full time, many colleagues and employers might not understand the condition and believe that it is all psychosomatic. Mind you, the power of the mind is wonderful thing and staying positive can help alleviate some symptoms - but even on a sunny bright day, you can have the overwhelming pain that takes over. I would love to have a circle of "fibro friends" to talk to when I'm having one of those days.

Thank you Eric for the work you do. You are an inspiration and you keep me motivated and positive. THANK YOU!

Anadrole Reviews
by: Anonymous

Anadrol was once a very popular steroid used to treat a host of medical conditions, the potential for abuse caused the FDA to add it to the controlled substances list in the 1980s. Doctors are still use it to treat conditions such as anemia and autoimmune disorders in America and other countries, but some time they try other, less androgenic compounds beforehand. If you do not have a prescription, it is not legal for you to possess, use, or buy Anadrol online is easy. If you like Anadrole Reviews and choose to buy i advise to first consult with doctor or other experts, that will good for your health.

Happy Belated Fibro Day!
by: Anonymous

Didn't realize it was Fibro Awareness Day the other day. So I wish you all a great day, a great week, a great month and a great year!

Recently I've had to run to the hospital due to a gallbladder attack/gastritis - I am still in my early 30s - just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this and if there is a link with fibro?? I had done a cleanse a couple of weeks prior to this incident - but it was hardly a severe cleanse - 3 days of juicing.

I have been trying the fibromyalgia cook book - full of alkaline and non-inflammatory recipes. I do feel a HUGE difference when I've eaten a non-inflammatory meal vs a full fat, carb loaded meal. I feel like I can think better (no brain fog) and my flare ups are less. I've been meaning to check out Eric's book because I noticed there are some nutritional tips in there.

Other than that, job hunting has made me all tensed up again...time to watch Eric's videos!

feeling supported
by: Anonymous

Wow, I feel so surrounded by support and love - I am so happy that we have found a window where we can connect and share!

I know it can be hard to get your voice heard by a doctor, especially if you come with knowledge (ie.nursing).

Keep asking for tests and keep asking for what you want. I find if I am very specific of what I want with good reason, it's hard for the doctor to refuse.

Also, there are many other alternatives to narcotics which can actually hinder you in the long run - try an antidepressant and nerve blocker such as amitryptilline - small dose at night and it can help alleviate some of the pain symptoms. A small dose narcotic as a prn and/or a night can also be helpful.

I wish you all the best of luck. Be assertive and be specific to what you want and need!!

Will touch base with you all soon.

I'm so glad you have the book! I don't take perscription drugs for Fibro at all. Supplements & slight excercise do help me. Unless someone has Fibro they can't relate. I do take tylenol when I'm having bad flair. Some nites I can't sleep from hurting, so I take 1/2 tylenol pm. I can't work anymore, I tried going back but couldn't do it. I'm at retirement age now but I still wanted to work. Keep up your research, it has helped me alot. Every case of Fibro is different, so you have to try & then decide what works for you. The frustration & emotions along with pain can get overwhelming. I'm fortunate I have a good husband & family that really support me through. Support is VERY important. As a nurse, you know that😊. Also, vitamins, so important for me. Keep researching all you can on importance of vitamins & little excercise! Stay strong😉! Keep in touch.

OMG!! I have been doing research on Fibro for past several days. Doctors are most unhelpful and most feel you are just drug seeking. I am SICK AND TIRED of the stigma attached to this illness, of drug seeking. I am also an RN who has had to cut back work to 3/4 time due to increasing symptoms, unable to handle stress well anymore, as I am a home health nurse and it can be CRAZY!! Have been having more severe pain and can't hardly even sit down to complete my work. Back of thighs and rear end feel they are on FIRE! I found some good herbal and vitamin suggestions and am more than willing to try and want to get off stupid pain medicine (that really doesn't work anyway). I read someone's comment on the book of Reversing Fibromyalgia and realized I HAVE IT; just haven't really read it. LOL> Glad to see this site and am more motivated now to take control of my OWN treatment. Thanks!!

Arms
by: LilD

Yes magnesium is a must. Been taking it twice daily for several years, along with MANY other vitamins. I do arm & leg excercises along with tredmill during day (not fast😄), & it helps. This arm thing feels like electricity. So I stopped doing my excercises (which are minimal) in the evening, & am now doing little bit during the day. I do them @ home, I have tredmill in garage, so I'm trying to see if this makes a difference. I do alot of research on Fibro & books.. A really good book is "Reversing Fibromyalgia" by Dr. Joe M. Elrod. He also has Fibro. I appreciate your response & feedback. Keep informed on how you're doing. I hope you have a feel good day😄!l

Arms and aches
by: Anonymous

I found taking magnesium supplements help a lot with the tingling and restless muscles. I've been reading a lot on it and supposedly our muscles break down at a faster rate yet they are slower to heal- creating an imbalance in minerals, pH and elecyrolytes. I'm starting with 1 supplemt of magnesium a day and trying to build to twice a day. Ginseng is good for fibro fog and yes I feel it gets worse with poor sleep and bad nutrition. That's what I'm trying out right now.

Fibro
by: LilD

Hi everyone! Just checkin in to see how you're doing. I had a pretty good weekend but I get wiped out so easily😴! I was wondering if anyone has problems with both arms while sleeping? Now this isn't like arms being asleep, its more like electrical & very uncomfortable. It's hard to explain, it wakes me up ( along with other hurts), & shaking them doesn't help. It's been on & off for couple months, & it doesn't coincide with anything I've done that day. It's odd, I know. I know it isn't heart related because I had echo cardio gram etc, just recently..thank goodnes😊! My neck & shoulder blades always hurt, that doesn't go away, but I'm wondering if its connected. One other thing, do u get Fibro fog. Mine used to be rare, & it seems to be increasing. Let me know what you think. I appreciate you listening. Thanx

pain in the you know what
by: Anonymous

So I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to balance work and working out. What works? What feels better? Working out after your shift?? Or on your days off??

I have been trying aquafit which I find very good - easier on my joints and muscles. I also do a lot of the pool exercises suggested in these videos. The local swimming pool has drop in classes (Aqua Zumba) for 5$ for 1 hr. I try to do that at least twice a week at the end of the day.

Please let me know what you feel helps you - let's share ideas!

Support talk

Thankyou for responding! Yes let's keep writing on this site. I think it's a great idea. Just to be able to correspond could really help all of us with Fibro. To inspire or just to vent. I appreciate it😊. Thankyou!

circle of friends
by: Anonymous

Yes, I agree. We need a good circle of friends to talk to. I would start a blog yet I feel it might interfere with my work. A lot of people don't know about the condition and can be quick to judge.

Maybe we can do it here until they kick us off??

Motivation & conversation
by: LilD

I've had Fibro for 5 years now & has progressively gotten worse this past year. It has gotten harder to excercise but I still try. In your article you wrote about wishing to have a circle of people who you could talk with on a bad day that can relate. I've been saying this alot lately, "if I only knew someone with Fibro to talk to". I have a Wonderful husband who supports me & loves me very much, & a good family support..thank Goodness😊. But I would really like to talk to someone who can relate. I feel it would help alot. I haven't worked now in 5 years, and am now at retirement age, and my motivation level just isn't there. I feel talking with other Fibro people would help motivate me because they totally understand. Well, thank you for your article. Have a good feel good day😀!
