Can sitting make you fibromyalgia worse?

What smoking and sitting have in common


It's an epidemic.

We all do it. Whether it's sitting at work, in front of the computer, or in front of the t.v. - it's bad for you. If you have fibromyalgia and are unable to exercise, the best thing you can do is to get up!

While there have been several studies indicating a link between sitting time and obesity, diabetes, and fibromyalgia, few studies have examined time spent sitting in relation to death.

Researchers from the Dept. of Epidemiology at the University College London reported that;

"spending in excess of 4 hours a day sitting in front of a television or computer more than doubles your risk of dying from - or being hospitalized for chronic diseases, like heart disease, arthritis, and fibromyalgia."

My suggestion;

Keep a pair of 5 pound weights by your couch or desk. Stand on 1 foot while curling the weights 10-20 times. Do this routine a few times a day to keep your body as limber as possible.

The bottom line;

"You must move - and move often - to maintain your health!"
