Use a food journal

A little advice from Kathleen Duggin a reporter from the Daily Sun and fellow fibromite.

"Fibromyalgia sufferers need to understand that if they are taking prescription medications for their symptoms it will have a direct impact on their metabolism.

These meds do slow down the rate at which you will be able to lose weight."

But fear not.

As always here at Fibromyalgia-Fitness we always offer you solutions. A food diary can help those of you struggling with weight loss.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy but you should be writing down what you are eating every day. People who keep food journals lose about 6 pounds more than those who don't.

Also, people who regularly skip meals lose about 8 fewer pounds than those who have a more regular meal pattern.

A simple pad and paper will do. If you are able to download applications to your cell phone there are numerous ones for "calorie counter." If you have a computer free sites like www.fitday.com make it real easy.

Be honest - record everything you eat

Be accurate - measure portions, read labels

Be complete - include details such as how the food was prepared, and the addition of any toppings or condiments

Be consistent - always carry your food diary with you or use a diet-tracking application on your smart phone.

"Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice." Wayne Dyer.

Go for it!
