Tips from the experts

The very best thing about doing research for my new book, is that it's allowed me to meet some extraordinary people.

People who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have found their own unique ways of as Cindy Hively would say...Living "AWAP", As Well As Possible.

Today I want to introduce you to Lynn Lennon. She is a triathlon competitor who found a way to beat fibromyalgia. Like many of you, she's a terrific mom who found simple, positive ways to change her life.

We Skyped for over an hour last week and I wanted to share some unique views she has about "suffering with fibromyalgia."

In August 2007, I was in blinding pain for 4 days. I couldn't take it anymore. But I soon realized I had my 2 boys to look after. I did not have the luxury to die.

So I thought about a "reverse suicide"...

Making different choices should equal different outcomes.

I started with baby steps, just making small positive steps one at a time. Sleeping, hydration, exercising, vitamins, flossing my teeth. Anything and everything I could do positive in a day - I did it.

I felt as if I had become "comfortable being sick". I had to stop identifying myself as being sick. "I had to change the things I attached pleasure to."

I lost 40 pounds the first year and stopped using my cane.

I became motivated by feeling so much better , so fast...

There is plenty more from Lynn, as well as other experts like Deirdre Rawlings, ND, PhD and Cindy Hively- Awakened Living Mentor.

We are well into 2013 so I hope many of you have begun your fitness routines. If not, it's still early in the year to do so. Like Lynn put it;

When it comes to fighting fibromyalgia, It takes uncommon discipline.

Are you disciplined enough?

I know you are!
