Below are some comments from my website concerning Magnesium and fibromyalgia. Thanks to all who commented and taught me a thing or two on the importance of magnesium on fibromyalgia.

"Adequate magnesium is necessary for proper muscle functioning. Magnesium deficiency promotes excessive muscle tension, leading to muscle spasms, tics, restlessness, and twitches.

This is due to an imbalance of the ratio of calcium to magnesium, as calcium controls contraction, while magnesium controls relaxation. Plus, in fibromyalgia, changes are seen in the muscles, such as "significantly lower than normal phosphocreatine and ATP levels."

"Yes magnesium is a must. Been taking it twice daily for several years, along with MANY other vitamins. I do arm & leg exercises along with treadmill during day (not fast), & it helps."

"I found taking magnesium supplements help a lot with the tingling and restless muscles. I've been reading a lot on it and supposedly our muscles break down at a faster rate yet they are slower to heal- creating an imbalance in minerals, pH and electrolytes. I'm starting with 1 supplement of magnesium a day and trying to build to twice a day."
